Autumn

Autumn on PhotoPeach



In autumn the leaves fall and die on the floor and go brown and I smell the beautiful brown leaves. The colours of the leaves are yellow, brown, golden and green. When the leaves swirl off the trees, people step on the crunchy leaves and when the leaves fall off they swirl off. - Paige

Autumn is a lovely season of the year. It is time for harvest. Every day I see leaves twisting and twirling down from the tree. I hear the wind blowing. I feel the autumn leaves. The leaves are crunchy and golden. – Tyler L

Yesterday Room 12 went on an autumn walk around the whole school. First the leaves were green then yellow, red and orange and brown. The leaves swirl round and round and round when they fall down. – Mia

Tabloid Sports Day




On Tabloid Sports Day we had fun in the obstacle course. I came first in the running and long jump. It was fun and it was hot. We did sack races. We did an egg and spoon race. My mum watched for a little time. We did stilt walking. It was big exercise. We did sports until lunch. We did shot putt. I came first in most of the activities. We had different numbers, I was ten. – Jed


On Wednesday we had a sports day and I was in Team 10. I won the egg and spoon race and the sack race. That was fun. We did lots of races. – Paige

At the sports day, my mum came to help the teacher. She was the coach of my group. My mum did not stay because my brother was at the sickbay at Orewa College so she had to pick him up and look after him. The best thing was the sack racing. – Anya

Tabloid Sports day was fun because there was running. Running is fun because you can get fit. – Ethan


On Wednesday we did Tabloid Sports. It was fun! We did long jump and all sorts of sport. My favourite thing was the obstacle course. - Hayley

Constable Dave

Meet Constable Dave.




Constable Dave came to our classroom. He talked about road safety. You need a helmet when you ride your bike because you might crash. If you have a helmet on, you will save your life. But you will still need to go to the hospital and Constable Dave said you must go across the pedestrian crossing. – Olivia

Constable Dave told us all about road safety. We will seriously need a helmet so we don't get hurt. People under twelve years old please can you sit in the back seat if there is space.If you have a car seat or booster seat please can you sit in it. For anything that has wheels please can you wear a helmet. If you walk in front of a car you might get hit by it and you might die. - Mary

On the 25th of March, Constable Dave taught us about road safety. We learnt to always put our crash helmets on when we go for a ride on a bike, scooter, skateboard or roller skates. He also said you have to sit in the back seat. We also learnt to cross at the pedestrian crossing. Also we learnt not to scream in the back seat of the car. – Charlotte

Constable Dave came to Red Beach School. He taught us about road safety. We have to sit in the back if you are under twelve with a booster seat. When you ride your bike you have to put your helmet on. You always have to put your seat belt on and always get out on the side with a foot path. You have to be careful. Constable Dave is a policeman. He knows a lot about safety. You need to put a yellow and orange jacket on. - Mia

Albatrosses live on high places so they can fly properly. When they take off cliffs they flap their wings a little bit and then just glide. Albatrosses live for 42 years. – Hayley

The Royal Albatross feeds on squid, fish and crabs. The Royal Albatross has a white head and body and black speckles on the mantle. The wings are dark brown or black with white. - Tyler L

Albatrosses are the largest sea birds in the world. Albatrosses only lay one egg, usually in November. When the chicks are born they are fed by both of their parents for seven to eight months. – Mary

Albatrosses live on hills because they need to be safe from enemies. The Royal Albatross has a white head and body with black speckles. Albatrosses drink sea water. – Charlee

The Royal Albatrosses wingspan is 3.5 meters. Its weight is about 8.5kg. Its habitat is in the Southern Oceans. They eat crabs and fish. Every two years they have babies. – Jed
